chooyam

It has been a very long time i blogged.I am totally occupied with my chores these days.After a long time i wanted to start blogging with a sweet.Here you go ,my chooyam

Ingredients:

Maida Flour----------1/2 cup
Jaggery--------------3/4 cup
Coconut--------------1 cup
Cardamom powder------1 tsp
Oil for frying




Procedure:

Add jaggery in water and heat it till it dissolves completely.
Add the coconut to it and keep on stirring.
Add the cardamom powder and remove from heat when it becomes thick so that small balls can be made from this mix.
After making the small balls,take the maida flour and make it as a paste.
Dip the sweet balls in the maida flour paste.
Heat the oil and deep fry them.

This is a very simple and yummy sweet,try this and i am sure you will enjoy the taste.

Salt Cheedai

Salt Cheedai is also one of the krishna jeyanthi special.This is so crispy and very nice snack.

Ingredients:
Rice flour-----2 cup
Butter---------4 spoons
Urad dhal------1/4 cup
white sesame --2 spoon
asafoetida
salt




Procedure:

Thaw the rice flour lightly until it turns golden brown.
Add uraddhal powder and butter and mix it thoroughly.you can add little coconut milk or coconut water while mixing it together.
Make tiny balls and make sure it is without cracks.
Heat the oil and then fry them .

It may crack little bit when frying,no problem.Still the taste will be perfect.

Sweet Cheedai

Now-a-days after started doing my masters i find it so hard to find time to spend time in my blog.Actually i along with my mom-in-law make a lot of dishes now but i deeply regret for not posting the dishes.okay,just got some time to pen in my blog.I didn't finish posting the krishna jeyanthi sweets yet,so i thought i shall complete these within this week.Now Sweet Cheedai...

Ingredients
:
Rice flour----------------2 cup
urad dhal-----------------1 spoon
jaggery-------------------1 1/2 cup
cardamom powder






Procedure:
Thaw the rice flour in the stove till it turns light brown.
Add the urad dhal powder with it and remove from heat.
Add jaggery to water and make sure it does not become so thick or so watery.
Add little coconut pieces and little white sesame with it along with the flour.This can be done with stove off.
Then mix them together and make round balls.
Heat Oil and deep fry them.

While frying in oil ,if it breaks it denotes that the sweet is more.Add little more rice flour and make the balls again and fry them.This tastes so good.

Cocunut Pozhli


My friend's first wedding anniversary just passed by and i made this sweet for her.This is her favorite.My mom in law and me made nice pozhli's and she liked it.Here you go..

Ingredients:
Maida--------------1 1/2 cup
Coconut------------1 cup
Jaggery------------3/4 cup
Ghee

Procedure:
Mix the maida with a pinch of salt,pinch of turmeric powder and mix it well and make the dough ,as you make the dough for chappathi.
Pour little ginger oil and leave it for atleast an hour.
Then make the paagu by adding water to jaggery and heating it.
When the jaggery is mixed with water and looks like a thin line add the coconut and stir it.
Add little cardamom powder.
The mix should be stirred till it becomes little solid,we should be able to make round balls.
Make small balls with the maida and just press it flat with hands,then keep the poornam(jaggery,coconut mix) and again it press it flat.
Just use little ghee while pressing so that it does not stick.
Then toast it in the tava with ghee.

This is a very yummy sweet that does not make us so tired.

A very Long weekend with an award and Maaladu




It has been a long time since i wrote something in my blog.This long weekend started for us on thursday itself.We took my in-laws to Newyork and Niagra.They enjoyed the trip a lot.We had lots of fun.It is the first time for me too to visit these places.It was so lovable.

Lot of recipes are pending to get into my blog.But now-a-days ,i am so busy that i hardly get time to sit with my laptop.So my krishna jeyanthi celebration comes so late on vinayaka chathurthi in my page.

This year krishna jeyanthi was so nice having my inlaws with me.My mom in law taught me all the snacks that Lord krishna likes and we both made them.I think i can post them individually so that you all can make it and enjoy.
Today i will start with my favorite and simple tasty maaladu.

Now lets move on to the recipe.

Ingredients:
Chana Dalia ------------3 cups
Sugar-------------------
Ghee--------------------1/2 cup
Roasted Cashews.

Procedure
Fry the chana Dalia (pottu kadalai)lightly to remove the moist.
Grind it to a fine powder
Grind the sugar and make powder it.
Now mix them both along with roasted cashews and then make it as laddu.

This was the first sweet i made after my wedding and this is so simple you can make it any time.

Tomato Curry




Last night i was making chappathi's and so confused what to make for curry.I remembered this curry and made it.Actually my friend aarti used to do this often.With little changes i made this and it was good.

Ingredients:
Tomatoes--------------4
Onion-----------------1
Capsicum--------------1
Garam masala----------1/2 spoon
Coriander Powder------1/2 spoon
RedChili--------------1
Chili Powder----------1/2 spoon
salt


Procedure:
Heat oil in kadai and fry fennel seeds,cumin seeds.
Then fry onion to pinkish and add tomato and capsicum.
When the tomato is mostly cooked,add garam masala,chili powder,coriander powder and salt along with little water and allow it to cook.
When it is mostly cooked just fry pieces of redchili and add to this gravy.

This tastes so good and extra chappathis were consumed in our house.

Puzlikeerai




This is a very healthy,tasty and simple sambhar like dish.My mom usually makes this often and i like this a lot.So i made it today for the first time.My inlaws liked it a lot and i decided to share with you all.

Ingredients:
Spinach--------------2 cups
Tamrind water--------4 cups
sambhar powder-------2 spoons
Redchili-------------2
Mustard--------------1/2 spoon
Salt

Procedure:
Cook the spinach with little salt.
After the spinach is cooked smash it lightly and add tamrind water.
Add little turmeric powder,salt and asafoetida and allow it boil.
Then add the sambar powder and allow it to boil.
When it is almost cooked ,fry the mustard and redchili and add it along with the sambar.

If required you can also add little cooked toor dal for extra taste.

Hot Plantain mix


This is a very simple and different recipe.You can mix this with rice and it really tastes good.This is my mom-in-law's favorite and she made this recently.It was awesome and i bet you will like this.

Ingredients:
Plantain--------------1
Urad dhal-------------1/2 cup
channa dhal-----------1 spoon
Red Chili-------------2 or 3 (depends on how hot you eat)
salt

Procedure:
Cook the plantain nicely.
Fry the dhals and chili together and grind along with salt and make it as a fine powder
Now crush the plantain to small pieces and mix it along with the powder with little coconut oil.
This tastes so good with hot rice.

Back from home and have been tagged

I don't know how one month flew away...my India trip came to an end.Before going i thought one month is a long time but it was too short and very hectic.I was too busy and was so hard to find time to browse mine or other blogs.i missed these but enjoyed my time with all relatives.All my tiredness vanished by talking to friends and spending time with my cute little niece.

Resting Time!!

When we think of our parents and our hometown a smile blooms in our face automatically.I am exactly in the same mood now.Starting to India.Thats why i was not able to post any recipes since last week.Got loads of work like shopping,packing,telling to friends,preparing food items for my honey..and what not.
Ok,friends i will be back in a month and will definitely share many delicious food recipes with you.If i have time i will post some of my mom's recipes from India.hope to see you all soon.

Stuffed IvyGuard


Everytime i make IvyGuard in the same way,just cutting and frying.I wanted to try something different with Ivy Guard and i found this recipe from Malika Badrinath Book.
With few alterations this came out so good.Try this and let me know your valuable comments.

Ingredients:
Ivy Guard---------------12
Tamarind paste----------1/2 spoon
Turmeric Powder---------1/4 spoon

For Stuffing:

Coconut-----------------3 spoons
Chutney gram------------1 1/2 spoon
cumin-------------------3/4 spoon
Dhania------------------1 1/2 spoon
Red chilli--------------6 or 7
asafoetida--------------1/4 spoon

Procedure:
Wash and cut the corners of the Ivy Guard and cut into two pieces if the vegetable is so long.
Make a slit in the center on one side .
Cook this in tamarind water along with turmeric Powder and salt.
Meanwhile grind all the ingredients for stuffing.
When the vegetable is cooked,heat the pan and fry the cooked vegetable till it turns brown.
Remove from oil and let it cool down.
Fry the grounded paste so that it comes separated and remove from heat.
Now put this stuffing in the slit of the vegetable.

This is so tasty and i bet all will like this.We can have this with Rasam Rice or Dhal Rice.

Green Peas Bath and an award




I am so happy to share with you guys a very easy and yummy recipe.This recipe belongs to one of my best friend Krupa.She is a very cute girl who still admires mickey mouse and Donald Duck.She is indeed a great cook too.We went to her home for dinner and she made this.No surprise we all fell love with this rice.My husband liked this a lot and i made this for his birthday.

While posting this i also wanted to share a few words about "We",i mentioned in the first paragraph.We are four sweet friends(Shri,Gayathri,Sajana and Krupa) married and living in the same block. We are like a family now and all the girls are cured from their home sick.Touch Wood!Thank God for making us know each other and we pray that this relation should last forever.

Ok,here is the recipe,:)

Ingredients:
Basmati Rice------------2 cups
Chopped Cilantro--------2 cups
Coconut-----------------1/4 cup
Green Chili-------------2
Ginger Garlic Paste-----2 spoons.
Cinnamon (optional)-----1 stick
Cloves------------------4 or 5
Green Peas--------------1 cup
Tomato------------------2
Onion-------------------1
Salt

Procedure
Cook the Basmati rice and keep it separately.
Grind the cilantro,coconut,chili,ginger garlic paste,cinnamon,cloves as a paste like chutney.
Heat the pan with little ghee and oil and fry onion,tomato.
When the onion is pinkish,add the green peas.If you are a big fan for peas you can add little more than i have mentioned.
Then add the grounded paste and allow it to cook.
Mix it thoroughly with salt and let it cook till the aroma arises.
Now add the cooked rice and mix it well.

Thats it..Ta da.your rice is ready.

YogurtKeerai




Spinach is very good for healthy ,but it is boring to just cook and eat it without spices.Here is a simple tasty dish with Yogurt.Spinach and yogurt are good in protein.My mom usually makes this and i love this dish .Last week i made this for my husband and obviously,he loved it.Here you go,


Ingredients:
Spinach-----------------3 cups
Curd--------------------2 cups
Green chili-------------1 or 2
Coconut-----------------3/4 cup
Salt

Procedure:
Cook the spinach with little salt.
After the spinach is cooked,add the coconut,green chili along with little cumin seeds and grind them together.
Mix the grounded paste with curd allow it to cook.
Add little salt and cook,till it perticipate.
Garnish it with little mustard seeds.

Thats it ,you can have this with hot rice with some thuvayal or potato fry.

Beetroot Halwa


Yesterday was my husband's birthday.June is his auspicious month.Both the important days,wedding day and birthday comes so close in the same month.He loves sweet a lot.So i make sweets very often.Then how come i can miss his birthday?I made Beetroot Halwa and he loved it.He will eat carrot,beetroot only in the form of Halwa.This is so good and little bit healthy.Here you go ,

Ingredients:
Grated Beetroot---------------------1 cup
Milk--------------------------------2 1/2 cup
Sugar-------------------------------1 3/4 cup
Cardamom Powder---------------------1 spoon
Ghee--------------------------------2 spoons.
cashews.

Procedure:
Grate the beetroot with small hole grater.
Then add beetroot and milk and allow the beetroot to get cooked in the milk.
When the beetroot is almost cooked add the sugar,cardamom powder and ghee and start stirring continuously.
You can see the halwa coming out of the vessel.
Remove immediately from the heat and garnish with cashews.

Happy Day with semiya Payasam


Yesterday was a memorable and important day in my life.It was my first wedding anniversary.I couldn't believe it is one year,i got married.The days went so fast.Married life is so different from our spinster life.Lots of fun,laugh,little quarrels,tears,hugs....what not.I have learned a lot in this period.I have got many relatives,friends and this lovely blog.I have cooked just once before marraige but now cooking daily and in the position of sharing my recipes with friends.This is something great.I should really appreciate my honey for tasting all of my dishes.So on this happy day i made good food for him which included sambhar,rasam,poriyal,fries and the sweet semiya payasam.

We really liked it and i thought i will share my happiness with my dear bloggers.
Here comes the recipe

Ingredients:
Semiya---------------3/4 cup
Milk-----------------1 1/2 cup
Sugar----------------1 3/4 cups
ghee-----------------2 spoons
condensed milk-------1/4 cup
cashews--------------7 to 8
water----------------2 cups

Procedure:
Heat the ghee and fry the broken cashews and keep aside.
Then fry the semiya till it turns golden brown.
Add water to it and allow it to cook.
when the semiya is almost cooked,add the milk and sugar and stir it continuously.
When everything gets mixed add the condensed milk and stir it.
In few minutes it will be cooked and will be ready to overflow.
Remove from heat and garnish with cashews.

You can taste the yummy semiya payasam.I bet this will be the simple and best dessert.

Vegetable Chappathi



It is been a week since i wrote in my blog.I was so busy in rearranging my home .I prepared this last week ,but i didnt have time to share .It was so tasty and soft also so simple.Here you go buddies!!

Ingredients:
Wheat flour------------------------4cup
Grated Carrot----------------------2 cup
Spinach----------------------------1 cup
Salt
Water

Procedure:
Mix the wheat flour,carrot,spinach,salt with water and make the dough.
Then just roll it as normal chappathi and cook them.
Apply little butter when removing from heat.
This makes the chappathi so soft.

This is a very easy recipe and is so healthy.I am sending this to srivalli's Roti mela.

Idli and Idli upma



Idli is a very good tiffen item.It is an all time favorite of mine.The remaining idli can be made as a delicious upma.Try this and you will surely like it.

Ingredients for Idli:
Raw Rice---------------4 cups.
Full Urad dhal--------------1 cup
Salt

soak them for 3-4 hrs.
Grind the rice first,then the urad dhal and mix both thoroughly with salt.
cook it in the idli cooker.
serve hot idli with any chutney and sambhar

Ingredients for idli upma:
Urad dhal-----------------1 spoon
mustard-------------------1/2 spoon
Idli chili powder---------5 spoons
gingeroil.

Heat the pan with little oil.
Fry the mustard seeds and the urad dhal.
After it was fried cut the idli into small pieces and fry it.
Add the idli chili powder and mix it thoroughly.
This is a very delicious day and is so good for a rainy day.

Brinjal Pitla


This is another way of making brinjal.This is really a very good healthy dish.Here you go,

Ingredients:
Brinjal---------------7 to 8
Red Chili------------3 or 4
Chenna Dhal-----------1 spoon
Urad dhal-------------1/2 spoon
Coriander seeds-------2 spoon
Cumin seeds-----------1/4 spoon
coconut---------------1 cup

Procedure:
Cut the brinjals into small pieces and cook in tamrind water along with salt and little turmeric powder.
Fry the ingredients except coconut in little oil
Grind the, along with coconut coarsely.
After the brinjal is cooked well,add this grounded one to the brinjal and allow it to cook for few minutes.
Remove from heat and serve with rice.

This can be made so thick or little watery.usually i make it watery ,this time i made it little bit thick.Both tastes good.Try this and let me know your valuable comments.

Aloo-puffed rice chat



I wanted to make some kind of chat for tea time snack.i just tried this and it came so good than expected.This is my own recipe and i really loved it a lot.Try this and definitely you will like this.

Ingredients:
Potato--------------1
Tomato--------------1
Red Onion-----------1 cup
Puffed Rice---------1 cup
Baby corn-----------3
Garam masala--------1 spoon
Dry mango powder----1 spoon
salt

Procedure:
Cook the potato and cut into small pieces.
Heat the pan and put little oil.
Add onion,tomato,potato and fry a little.
Add garam masala and dry mango powder,salt and mix it thoroughly.
At last add little pieces of corn,puffed rice and mix it once and remove from heat.
Put a little in a bowl,add a little coriander chutney then again this mix.
Serve with nylon sev.

Coriander Chutney:
Grind coriander leaves,green chili,small ginger piece,salt.

Aloo Paratha


Aloo Paratha is definitely a very good tiffen.I made it before for a get-together and i wanted to make it yesterday.This is a very simple recipe and not a tiring one.Try this and you will love cooking this.I had this with dhal.

Ingredients:
Potato--------------2
Onion---------------1 1/2 cup
Greenchili----------2
Wheat flour---------2 cup
garam masala--------1/2 spoon
ginger garlic paste--1 spoon
salt

Procedure:
Cook the potatoes and mash it well.
Grind the onion and chili together.
Heat the pan with oil and after it is heated ,pour the grinded paste.
Add a pinch of turmeric powder,garam masala,gingergarlic paste and salt.
Add the mashed potatoes to this and mix it thoroughly.
Add the wheat flour to this and make the dough.If required sprinkle little water.
Make the dough as we make it for chappathi.
Press it with the rollin pin and then make the parathas in the tava.
After the paratha is cooked just press it with butter .
This is definitely a very good dinner.

Rice Upma


This is an all time favorite for my father.i wanted to make this and surprise my husband.It came out good and he liked it too.

Ingredients:
Sona masoori Rice----------------2 cups
Chenna Dhal----------------------2 spoons
Urad dhal------------------------2 spoons
Red chili------------------------3
mustard--------------------------1 spoon
water----------------------------2 cup
salt


Procedure:
Heat the oil and fry the seasonings.
Pour cold water and let it boil with seasonings.
Break the rice into small granules (operate the mixie in pulse)
Remove the powder and use only the granules.
Add in the water and pressure cook it for 3 whistles.
After removing the cooker from heat open it immediately after the sound stops.
Put one spoon ghee and mix it thoroughly and serve hot with coconut chutney.

Tomato Kurma




This is one of my favorite side dish for chappathi.It really tastes so good and add an additional taste to chappathi or rice.

Ingredients:
Tomato-------------5
Coconut------------1/2 cup
Red Chili----------3
Cumin seeds--------1/2 spoon
Mustard Seeds------1/2 spoon
Urad dhal----------1/2 spoon
Salt

Procedure:
Cook the tomatoes along with salt and little turmeric powder.
Grind the coconut,cumin seeds and chili together with very little water.
After the tomatoes are cooked add the grinded ones with it and stir continuously.
After aroma arises remove from heat.
Fry the seasonings and add to it.

Beans Paruppu Usili


This is one of my favorite dish.My mom makes this so good.Though i didn't get it as perfect as my mom,mine tastes good and have my own fans for this dish.

Ingredients:

Beans-------------------2 cups
Toor Dhal---------------1 cup
Red Chili---------------2
Oil

Procedure:
Cook the chopped beans with salt.
Soak the Toor Dhal for 30 min and then grind it along with chili and little salt and asafoetida.
Heat the frying pan and pour 3 spoons of oil .
After the oil is heated put the grinded dhal and mix it .
It will split and gets cooked.
Now add the beans and mix it thoroughly.
You may add little more oil and so it does not go dry soon.

Poori Kilangu


It has been a very long time i made poori.My husband and i are great fans of poori.So i made it last night for dinner.I thought i will share it with you all.It is really a very yummy tiffen,and is so rare to see people whom hate poori.

Ingredients for Poori:

Wheat Flour-----------------2 cups
Sooji-----------------------1 cup
Salt
Oil for frying

Ingredients for Kilangu:

Potato----------------------2
Onion-----------------------1 cup
Green Chili-----------------2
Chenna Dhal-----------------1 spoon
Mustard---------------------1/2spoon
Salt

Procedure for making Poori:

Mix the flour and sooji with water and salt.
While adding water ,add little by little.
The dough should be moist but not so wet.
Leave the dough for 30 min.
Then make small even balls and press it and fry it.

Procedure for making Kilangu:
Cook the potatoes and smash it without lumps.
Heat the pan with little oil and add the seasonings.
Fry the onion,chili and then add the potatoes and salt.
Mix it thoroughly and add little water.
When it looks like gravy but not so watery remove from heat.

Simple Vegetable Briyani



I was so lazy to cook today after long weekend.So i made this simple briyani.It is a very good dish with raitha for lunch.Here you go!

Ingredients:
Tomato------------------1
Onion-------------------1/2 cup
Chopped Beans-----------1/2 cup
Chopped Carrot----------1/2 cup
Peas--------------------1/4 cup
Cauliflower-------------1/2 cup
Briyani Masala----------1 spoon
Ginger Garlic Paste-----1 spoon
cashews-----------------5 or 6
cloves------------------2
Basmati Rice------------1 1/2 cup
Ghee for frying

Procedure:
Heat the ghee and fry the cashews.
In the same oil fry the onions,tomato and all the vegetables.
Add the ginger garlic paste,cloves and masala and mix them.
Wash the rice and add to this and fry them and mix it thoroughly.
Put it in the electric cooker along with salt and let it cook.

Please remove the rice from the cooker immediately it is cooked.
Small Potato pieces can also be added.

This is so simple and we can take a nap while the rice is getting cooked .

Masala Vada



I usually make vada with urad dhal and yesterday i wanted to make Masala Vada and surprise my husband.It came out so crispy and was so good.It reminded me the vada i use to eat in my hometown.I tried to make it with a hole,i made a few like that and the rest i just made it as it came.Here you go!

Ingredients:
Chenna Dhal-------------2 cups
Red Chili---------------3
Onion-------------------1/2 cup
Salt
Oil for frying

Procedure:
Soak the dhal for 1/2 an hour.
Then grind it along with salt and chili,do not grind it so smoothly.
Then add the chopped onion and fry it.

I added some spinach in it and it was so nice.(second pic)

We can also add chopped carrot or beetroot along with the onion.

Brinjal Roast


Brinjal is one of all time favorite for my husband.My mom used to make this and i made it for the first time .It was so spicy and tasty.Try it once.

Ingredients:
Brinjal---------------7 or 8
Chenna Dhal-----------2 spoons
Urad Dhal-------------1 spoons
Red Chili-------------3
Coriander Seeds-------3 spoons
Salt


Procedure:
Cut the brinjals lengthwise and cook it in microwave for 7 min.
Fry chenna,urad dhal,coriander seeds and chili and then grind it to powder along with salt.
Fry the cooked brinjal in little oil for 3min and then add the powder.
Mix it thoroughly and fry it with little more oil for 10 min.
Serve it with hot rice.

Pumpkin Sweet




It is since a long time i made sweets,so i decided to make halwa with white pumpkin.But the output was not halwa but a very tasty sweet.My husband liked it a lot and ate the whole box.Try this once and i bet you will also like it.

Ingredients:
Winter Melon (white Pumpkin)-----------------2 cups
Milk-----------------------------------------1 1/4 cup
Sugar----------------------------------------1 1/2 cup
Ghee-----------------------------------------5 spoons.
Cashew---------------------------------------7
Cardamom powder------------------------------1 spoon

Procedure:
Cut the winter melon into small dices.
First fry the cashew in ghee and keep aside.
Fry the pumpkin pieces in ghee for a few minutes and then add milk along with cardamom.
Stir continuously so that the pumpkin gets cooked and dissolve in milk.
When the pumpkin is three fourth cooked add the sugar and keep on stirring.
When it is about to come out of the vessel add the ghee and mix it thoroughly and change it to a greased vessel.

Cardamom gives a wonderful flavor to this sweet.I would like to post this recipe for the think spice-cardamom event.
This is really a very good dessert and tastes yummy.

Triveni Kurma


Yesterday i decided to have nan for dinner and was thinking about the side dish.I didn't have any idea before i started cooking this.But had a confidence it will be tasty.I was so eagerly waiting for the comments from my husband.He really appreciated it and had an extra nan just for the curry.I was so flattered.Try this and get the same good comments from your loved ones.

Ingredients:
Potato------------------2
Gobi--------------------1 cup
Paneer------------------8 cubes
Onion-------------------1
Green chili-------------1
Tomatoes----------------2
Cumin seeds-------------1/2 spoon
Fennel seeds------------1/2 spoon
salt--------------------1 1/2 spoon
Chili powder------------1 spoon
Garam Masala------------1 spoon
Ginger Garlic Paste-----1 spoon

Heat Oil and add fennel seeds cumin seeds and green chilis.
Then fry onion and tomatoes till onion turns golden brown.
Cook Potatoes and cut them into small pieces before you start this.
Add Potatoes and Gobi and fry them along with onion.
Add Chili powder,garam masala,ginger garlic paste and mix them thoroughly.
When the aroma arises add paneer and salt and mix them.
Add water and allow them to cook.
cook till gobi gets cooked well.Paneer may break into pieces.But thats what add taste.
At last if you want you can add little whipped cream or just leave like that.
It really tastes good.

I named it Triveni kurma because it is a mixture of Aloo,Gobi and Paneer.

Adai



Adai is a very famous kind of dosa in south India.I love this with aviyal.It is really a perfect combination and tastes yummy.Give it a try!

Ingredients:
Raw Rice----------------2 cups
Urad Dhal---------------1/2 cup
Moong Dhal--------------1/2 cup
Toor Dhal---------------1 cup
Chana Dhal--------------1/2 cup
Red Chili---------------4 or 5
Green Chili-------------1 (lengthy)
Curry leaves
Asafoetida

Soak the rice and the dhals for an hour and then while grinding add the chilis and curry leaves with less water.The dough should not be so soft,it should be little rough.Before making the dosa add salt and mix it thoroughly.

Carrot-------------4

chayote------------1
Brinjal------------3
Coconut------------1 cup
Cumin seeds--------1 spoon
Green chili--------3

Procedure:
Cut all the vegetables lengthwise and cook them together.
Add pinch of turmeric powder and salt while cooking.
Grind the coconut,cumin seeds,green chili together by adding little water.
When the vegetables are mostly cooked add the paste and mix it throughly.
Garnish with curry leaves.
At the end add little coconut oil for fragrance.

Avial is the best combination of Adai,Rasam rice..

Gobi Wings




Yesterday my husband came so tired and i wanted to give him something to boost him up.I had just cauliflower and i tried this dish.This came out so good and the taste was so great.
Friends,you have to try this.

Ingredients:
Besan-----------------------5 spoons
Rice flour-----------------2 spoon
Sooji-----------------------3 spoon
Corn flour-----------------3 spoon
Chili powder----------------1 spoon
Salt------------------------1 1/2 spoon
Cauliflower-----------------1 cup
Oil for frying

Procedure:
Mix all the flours,chili powder ,salt and add water.
The batter should be not so thick or watery.
Soak the cauliflowers in the batter till the oil gets heated.
Fry the gobi and serve hot.
Any chutney or sauce will be a good company to this.
