Vegetable Puffs

It has been really a long time i added recipes in my blog.Though i try new things in my kitchen i have grown a bit lazy to blog it.Ok!! i packed my laziness and sent it to the storage,let me see how long it stays there.I made Vegetable puffs when we had guests.It was so tasty and here ya go..

Ingredients:
Cooked Potato---------------1cup
Finely chopped Carrot-------2 cup
Finely Chopped Beans-------- 2 cup
Chopped Onions--------------2 cup
Green chili-----------------1
Red Chili Powder------------1 spoon
Ginger Garlic Paste---------1 spoon
Salt------------------------2 1/2 tsp.
Pastry Sheets. Pastry sheets are readily available in American Stores as well as in Indian Stores.




Procedure:
Heat the kadai and pour little oil.When the oil is heated add the chopped onions and fry them.
When the onions turn light brown add the vegetables and green chili and fry them.
When the Vegetables are cooked add the potatoes,Ginger garlic paste and Red chili powder along with salt and mix them well.You can also add a pinch of turmeric powder.
Fry them till the raw smell goes off.
Remove the mix from heat.

Thaw the pastry sheets and keep it ready.Keep the mix in the Pastry sheet and fold them.Using water stick the corners.
Preheat the conventional oven at 300F.
Once the oven is heated bake them till they turn light brown.It may take 20 -30 min to bake depending on the pastry sheet.

Tada! Puffs are ready.This is a very good appetizer and tasty one too.

Aloo-puffed rice chat



I wanted to make some kind of chat for tea time snack.i just tried this and it came so good than expected.This is my own recipe and i really loved it a lot.Try this and definitely you will like this.

Ingredients:
Potato--------------1
Tomato--------------1
Red Onion-----------1 cup
Puffed Rice---------1 cup
Baby corn-----------3
Garam masala--------1 spoon
Dry mango powder----1 spoon
salt

Procedure:
Cook the potato and cut into small pieces.
Heat the pan and put little oil.
Add onion,tomato,potato and fry a little.
Add garam masala and dry mango powder,salt and mix it thoroughly.
At last add little pieces of corn,puffed rice and mix it once and remove from heat.
Put a little in a bowl,add a little coriander chutney then again this mix.
Serve with nylon sev.

Coriander Chutney:
Grind coriander leaves,green chili,small ginger piece,salt.

This is a very tasty as well as healthy chat.I am sending this for eat healthy-fiber rich event by sangeeth

Masala Vada



I usually make vada with urad dhal and yesterday i wanted to make Masala Vada and surprise my husband.It came out so crispy and was so good.It reminded me the vada i use to eat in my hometown.I tried to make it with a hole,i made a few like that and the rest i just made it as it came.Here you go!

Ingredients:
Chenna Dhal-------------2 cups
Red Chili---------------3
Onion-------------------1/2 cup
Salt
Oil for frying

Procedure:
Soak the dhal for 1/2 an hour.
Then grind it along with salt and chili,do not grind it so smoothly.
Then add the chopped onion and fry it.

I added some spinach in it and it was so nice.(second pic)

We can also add chopped carrot or beetroot along with the onion.

Gobi Wings




Yesterday my husband came so tired and i wanted to give him something to boost him up.I had just cauliflower and i tried this dish.This came out so good and the taste was so great.
Friends,you have to try this.

Ingredients:
Besan-----------------------5 spoons
Rice flour-----------------2 spoon
Sooji-----------------------3 spoon
Corn flour-----------------3 spoon
Chili powder----------------1 spoon
Salt------------------------1 1/2 spoon
Cauliflower-----------------1 cup
Oil for frying

Procedure:
Mix all the flours,chili powder ,salt and add water.
The batter should be not so thick or watery.
Soak the cauliflowers in the batter till the oil gets heated.
Fry the gobi and serve hot.
Any chutney or sauce will be a good company to this.

Banana Cutlet


Banana Cutlet is one of the healthier evening time snack.I first made it and my friends liked it.Here you go

Ingredients:
Bananana-----------------2
Potato-------------------3
Grenchilli---------------2
Onion--------------------1 (big)
Ginger Garlic Paste------1 spoon
Garam Masala-------------1/2 spoon
Salt---------------------1 1/2 spoon
chilli Powder------------1/2 spoon
Maida flour--------------3 spoons
Bread Crum Powder
Oil for frying

1 Peel the Bananas and cook in microwave for 5 min.
2 Cook the Potatoes and keep it ready.
3 Heat the oil and fry the onions,green chili and mix with ginger garlic paste,garam masala.
4 Then add the potatoes and mix it with the masala.
5 After some minutes add the banana and salt,chili powder and mix it thoroughly.
6 Remove from heat and mix it with maida flour.
7 Make small balls with this and flatten it.
8 Heat Oil in a frying pan .
9 Garnish the balls with bread crums and fry it.

It tastes good with tomato sauce.

Chenna Samosa Chat




Chat items are really liked by all.I did it for a dinner party and all liked it.

Ingredients:

Chole
Samosa
Imli chutney
Corriander chutney.

Let us see how to make each of this.

Samosa:

You can buy frozen samosas and fry it.
Orelse you can make samosas

Ingredients for Samosa Filling:


Potatoes------------4 ( medium sized)
Peas----------------1 cup
Onions--------------2 (big)
Green chilli--------2
Cumin seeds---------1 spoon
GaramMasala---------1 spoon
Corriander powder---1 spoon
Chilli Powder-------1/2 spoon
GingerGarlic Paste--1 spoon
Turmeric Powder
Salt

Cook Potatoes and Peas .
Heat the pan and fry onions,cuminseeds,green chilli.
After it turned golden brown add the cooked vegetables.
Add the masala,ginger garlic paste and other powders along with salt and mix it well.
Now the filling for samosa is ready.

Samosa Cover:

Ingredients :

Maida-----------4 cups
Ghee------------2 spoons
Salt
Baking Powder

Mix the ghee with a pinch of baking powder.
When bubbles are formed add maida and salt and mix it together and make a soft dough.
Fold the dough like a triangle and fill it with the mixture and fry it.

For chole:

Soak the chenna for 10 hrs.
Cook it in cooker and allow it for 3 whistles.
After some time fry the cuminseeds,sombu,onion,tomatoes,garam masala,dry mango powder.After it is fried add the chenna and mix it thoroughly.
Chole is ready

Now let us make the chutneys.

Imli Chutney;

Imli-----------------2 spoons of imli paste.
salt-----------------1 1/2 teaspoon
sugar----------------3/4 teaspoon
black pepper powder---1/4 spoon

Mix the paste with water and make it watery.
Add the rest and mix it well.

Coriander chutney

Coriander leaves-----1 bunch
Garlic cloves--------2
Ginger---------------1/2 "
Green Chilli---------2

Grind all the ingredients and the chutney is ready.

Now we can arrange the chat

First put chole
Pour the imli chutney
Put the samosa pieces
Put the coriander chutney
Put chole and continue this .

For Garnishing

Put some chopped onions,coriander leaves and nylon sev.

Now the chat is ready and tastes yummy.

Veggie Roll


Veggie Roll is a good evening time snack.It is so simple and delicious.

Ingredients:

Carrot-2
Potato-1
Peas---50 gm
beans--50 gm
Onion--1 cup (finely chopped)
Ginger Garlic Paste--1/4 spoon
Green Chilli
Garam Masala
Cumin Seeds
jeera
Oil for frying

Procedure

Heat the frying pan with oil.Fry the jeera and cumin seeds,the onion and chili till onion becomes golden brown.Meanwhile cook the vegetables in microwave.After the onion is fried ,add the vegetables ,ginger garlic paste and garam masala and mix it well.While you add potato smash them well and add.Mix it well so that the vegetables are well mixed with the masala.Add salt to it and remove from stove.

Now we can stuff this in pastry sheets and fry in oil.
If you would like to make the pastry sheets we can also make it.

Ingredients for Pastry sheets

Maida Flour (All purpose flour)----3 cups.
water -----------------------------3/4 cup
A pinch of salt.

Mix the maida flour with water .The dough should be flexible like we make it for chappathis
Spread it like chappathi .Now the veg stuff can be kept into it and can be closed well and fried.

This is really very good to health and tastes yummy.
