This is a very famous kozhambu made during functions.It is quite easy and tastes good.


Bengalgram dhal--------------2 spoons
Urad dhal--------------------2 spoons
Fenugreek--------------------1/2 spoon
Green chili------------------7
Grated Coconut----------------1/2 cup
Lady's finger or white pumpkin
Curd --------------------------1 cup

Fry the dhals to golden brown.
At the final stage of frying add green chilly along with them and fry for a little while.
Grind all these with coconut as a paste.
In the vessel,pour water and allow it to boil for sometime
Add the vegetable either lady's finger or white pumpkin and cook.
Add pinch of turmeric powder and required salt.
Meanwhile add the paste with curd.
After the vegetable is cooked add the curd (mixed with paste) and allow to boil for some time.
After 10 min remove from fire.
Fry the seasonings like curry leaves and mustard and mix it with the kozhambu.
Mix it with rice and definitely you can enjoy the taste.

BrinjalCurry (EnnaiKathrikai)

This is a very famous dish in south india.People who do not like eggplant really start eating the vegetable after tasting this.

Red Chilli---------3
Urad Dhal--------1/2 spoon
Coriander seeds--2spoon
jeera -------------1/4 spoon


Fry all the dhals in little oil .
Add salt ,pinch of asafoetida and grind it.
Cook the brinjal in microwave for 5 min
Then cut open the brinjal to 8 pieces,do not cut into individual piece.
Stuff the powder in brinjal and fry the brinjal in oil.
The brinjal will turn black ,but definitely it tastes good.

You can also make it as a gravy.
