Beetroot Halwa


Yesterday was my husband's birthday.June is his auspicious month.Both the important days,wedding day and birthday comes so close in the same month.He loves sweet a lot.So i make sweets very often.Then how come i can miss his birthday?I made Beetroot Halwa and he loved it.He will eat carrot,beetroot only in the form of Halwa.This is so good and little bit healthy.Here you go ,

Ingredients:
Grated Beetroot---------------------1 cup
Milk--------------------------------2 1/2 cup
Sugar-------------------------------1 3/4 cup
Cardamom Powder---------------------1 spoon
Ghee--------------------------------2 spoons.
cashews.

Procedure:
Grate the beetroot with small hole grater.
Then add beetroot and milk and allow the beetroot to get cooked in the milk.
When the beetroot is almost cooked add the sugar,cardamom powder and ghee and start stirring continuously.
You can see the halwa coming out of the vessel.
Remove immediately from the heat and garnish with cashews.

Shri, nice post. Did you try add dry milk powder instead of milk, the texture comes out very good. I always make carrot halwa and beetroot halwa using panner or dry non-fat milk powder. This is a good recipe, just by cooking with basic ingredients for sure!
